The Women We Wanted To Look Like, Part III

Julia Sarr-Jamois is a 23 year old fashion editor for Wonderland magazine.  She’s known for her perfect afro and funky style.  I love her originality and fearlessness.

Giovanna Battaglia is the editor of L’Uomo Vogue and a freelance stylist.  She is from Italy but now lives in New York.  I love the way she mixes patterns and is also not afraid to take risks.

I’ve admired Tina Chow’s style since I bought the book “Scavullo On Beauty” in the early 80s and saw a black and white photograph of her and her sister Adelle Lutz.  That photo really captivated me and still does.  Tina Chow was a half-Japanese, half German-American beauty who was a model and muse in the 80s.  She was married to Michael Chow, who owns the chain of Mr. Chow restaurants.  She died of AIDS in 1992 at age 41. Her style is still relevant all these years after her death.
