There’s a beautiful shop called Perry & Co. which stocks Farrow & Ball paint and wallpaper. They’re located across the street from my friend Anita’s house in Vancouver and they always have beautiful window displays. Farrow & Ball recently hosted a contest for its stores, asking them to create an original window display idea using their products. The store in Vancouver won. The 2 women who run the shop used a lot of imagination and creativity in deciding to do a Downton Abbey theme. They made-up the mannequins with paint and designed their clothes with wallpaper. Absolute perfection.
I really like this wallpaper, Crivelli Trellis, which I find soothing. I would wallpaper an accent wall or a ceiling, but not a whole room. I find it sometimes jarring when a whole room is patterned.

Wallpaper. Is it a do or a don’t for you? Have you ever hung wallpaper? How did it go?

I wall papered a room – once. It’s not really the look for me. But the guy at the hardware store did give me a good tip. He told me to start hanging the wallpaper in the least visible area of the room, like around the door way…in case the walls aren’t perfectly squared, having the seams around a doorway make it easier to hide the starting and ending point and any misalignment.
Love it!
