Scoop

scoopicon Good morning.  First off, please let me apologize for the occasional days when I don't post.  I used to get so upset about missing a day that I was driving myself (and my family) crazy.  James finally told me that it was OK to take a day off every now and then.

The last few weeks have been particularly stressful.  James travelled a bit for work in January then I went away to Florida on my own for a week to visit with sister and my aunt.  The day after my return, James left for Las Vegas for 4 days, he was home for 5 days, he then left for Miami for 3 days, is home for 4 days and he's leaving next Monday for Dallas for 3 days.  Hopefully the travelling will subside after that.

Probably the thing that stresses me most when James is away is Emma's weekly hospital visits.  We always have to pack a little case with reading material, ipods, ipad and comfy clothes in case her count is too low and she needs to be treated.  So far, her count was been very low but stable (10k) for about a month and a half but she has now started bruising on her legs so the hematologist wants to treat.  Lucky her:  next Wednesday and Thursday during spring break, she will be in a hospital bed hooked up to an iv for 5 hours each day, being pumped full of god-knows-what which will only raise her platelets for about 2 weeks.  I don't think it's worth the hassle and side-effects, but at 16, she can decide for herself and James and I support her decision fully.

During these busy, worrisome times, I still discover new things which give me a lot of pleasure.  Here are a few of them:

N˚1  Following on Pinterest this week:  Kim Stephen

N˚2  I'm dying to try this recipe for French onion soup

N˚3  Skillshare, which is a really cool website where you can learn almost anything

N˚4  My jam this week:  "Our Version of Events" by Emeli Sandé

N˚5  Loving these ceramics from Studio Lorier on Etsy

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.  See you on Monday.
