About Me

My love for all things beautiful started at a very young age.   My mother was a fabulous cook, extraordinary hostess and very stylish woman in her heyday.  She was a wonderful role-model who greatly influenced me and she is sorely missed.

When I was 10, my family moved to London.  Little did I know that this would be a turning point for me.  I developed an eye for beauty and learned to enjoy life while surrounding myself with lovely things.   Later, when I married an Englishman and was welcomed into his family, their lifestyle had an enormous impact on me:  cloth napkins in silver napkin rings every day (something we’ve carried on in our family – our napkins are simple cotton ones, but they are housed in beautiful sterling silver monogrammed napkin rings), gorgeous flowers from the garden lovingly arranged in vases and placed throughout the house, wonderful convivial meals around an old refectory table and lots of laughter.

My style is a mixture of old and new, formal and informal.  Living beautifully does not have to cost a lot of money.  I am not a professional decorator, chef or caterer.  Decor, cooking and entertaining are my passions.  I believe in surrounding yourself with the things that bring you joy on a daily basis because every day is a special occasion.
